DIGITAL THEATRE PLUS

MULTIPLE NOMINEE FOR THE 2018 WEBBY AWARDS, THE AWARD-WINNING DIGITAL THEATRE PLUS IS THE WORLD'S LEADING ARTS EDUCATION PLATFORM.

Founded in 2009 by Robert Delamere, Digital Theatre+ is a unique service for English and the performing arts, providing over four million students, within 1,750 schools, colleges and universities, across 80 countries, with access to 1000+ performances and educational resources.

DT+ improves student engagement and exam results by bringing the books and plays on the English and performing arts curricula to life.

We collaborate with renowned theatre companies, actors and creatives to capture live performances in stunning quality and bring you insights from behind the scenes; we curate the very best productions from over 60 of the world’s leading arts organisations; and we commission educational resources from distinguished practitioners and academics.

The service provide access to:

    •    950+ hours of AV content
    •    11,500+ pages of written content
    •    500+ resources which are exclusive to DT+

We cover 500 plays by 450+ writers and work with 422 partners, from academics and practitioners to theatre companies and venues.

These numbers are exciting - but it's never been about quantity at Digital Theatre Plus. Everything we add to DT+ - whether it be created, commissioned or curated - is carefully considered based on one or several of the following factors:

    •    the UK/US curricula
    •    the significance of the work or practitioner
    •    broadening the geographical spread of content
    •    improving coverage of underrepresented groups
    •    and, more recently, usage

What else have we been up to...

2018 saw us create a huge amount of new content and new formats that will be released in 2019.

All of this new content will extend our curriculum coverage.

We have also been making significant changes to the platform itself. As you all know, the new page designs and Teaching with DT+ are now live. These major changes are part of a package of work which will see us make our platform more intuitive and our content more discoverable.

This is just the beginning of that transformation, there will be much more to come in 2019.

DT+ has won a number of high-profile awards, including: the Education Award at 2018 Digital Agenda Impact Awards, Best Arts Resource at the 2018 Tech for Teachers’ Awards and Best Online/Streaming Platform at 2018 Theatre & Technology Awards. DT+ has also been nominated in the Best Streaming Platform category at the 2018 Webby’s.
