Kate Betts’ play On the Third Day was the winning entry from more than 2000 applicants in Channel 4’s The Play’s The Thing. Robert took over after director Steven Pimlott was taken critically ill during rehearsal. The production opened at The Ambassador’s Theatre, London and starred Maxine Peake and Paul Hilton. It was produced by Sonia Friedman for SFP. The production process was broadcast on C4 over 4 episodes leading up to the opening night.
